This month’s offering will be influenced by the Sun in Virgo. This intuitive and feminine energy is earthy, grounded in purity and established in the details. When we slow down and take the time to notice the subtle aspects of our being, what will we find? When we begin to explore the corners and crevices, what will we discover? What might we still be holding? What can we let go? We use this analytical knowledge and distinct awareness to fully realize our higher purpose. What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga focuses on the slow, patient, opening of the fascial layer of the body and is a deeply meditative practice. A Yin Yoga practice is a wonderful complement to an active yang (hatha and vinyasa) practice. Balance.
What is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga Nidra is a state of consciousness which hovers between waking and sleeping. The practitioner is fully aware of what is happening around them during the session, but chooses to focus on what is occurring deep within their own being. Each practice begins with a guided full body relaxation. Then the individual is encouraged to take a sojourn in the mind to a place of rest and restoration. When the journey is complete, the person awakens” refreshed and rejuvenated.
